This rail is vital for two areas of a closeboard fence: to provide a fixing point for the capping rail; and, if using timber gravel boards on timber posts, to be cut into 150mm (6″) cleats to fix to the insides of the posts, creating a fixing point for the gravel boards in between the posts.
